Why we built Neer

It started with a simple observation: Kenyan small and medium businesses were being left behind. For years, powerful, integrated POS and ERP systems were a luxury only available to big retail corporations with massive IT budgets.

Meanwhile, local shop owners were forced to juggle disjointed tools, manual ledgers, or expensive software built for entirely different global markets. They deserved a solution engineered for their actual reality.

Neer was founded in 2024 by retail entrepreneurs who explicitly understood the daily, on-the-ground challenges faced by businesses in Kenya. We knew firsthand the struggles of managing multi-branch inventory, navigating intermittent internet access, and adapting to the complexities of new KRA eTIMS compliance laws without a dedicated tech team.
